Vietnam and Japan are poised to deepen their bilateral ties through enhanced cooperation across various sectors, including diplomacy, security, trade, technology, and people-to-people exchanges. This development comes as both nations aim to bolster their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and capitalize on complementary economic strengths.
In a message commemorating Vietnam’s 81st National Day, Japanese Foreign Minister Motegi Toshimitsu emphasized Japan’s commitment to working closely with Vietnam to achieve mutual prosperity and strength. His remarks underline a shared vision for future growth and collaboration.
Japanese Finance Minister Katayama Satsuki highlighted the evolving nature of Vietnam-Japan relations, noting that they have entered a new stage with burgeoning opportunities for cooperation in finance, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, critical minerals, and energy. She pointed out that such collaboration holds the potential to drive economic growth and contribute to regional stability.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu echoed these sentiments, describing the current state of relations as their strongest yet. He highlighted ongoing collaboration in areas such as science and technology, innovation, green and digital transformation, and the development of skilled human resources.
The two countries are also focusing on strengthening parliamentary exchanges and cooperation, with Vietnam’s sizable community in Japan playing a crucial role in fostering economic and social ties. As both nations continue to build trust and capitalize on their synergies, the Vietnam-Japan partnership is set to expand further.
