China Condemns Japan’s Defense Growth; Ukraine Drone Collaboration Emerges

by admin477351

China has voiced concerns about Japan’s expanding military initiatives, cautioning that the country’s recent defense strategies could threaten peace and stability in the region. During a routine press briefing on Tuesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun commented on reports indicating that Ukrainian drone companies are looking to collaborate with Japanese counterparts. He emphasized that international cooperation should aim to foster regional stability and security rather than escalate tensions.

Highlighting Japan’s military trajectory, Guo pointed out that the nation has been increasingly focused on military expansion in recent years. This includes the development of medium- and long-range offensive capabilities, loosening restrictions on the export of lethal weapons, broadening the scope of activities for its Self-Defense Forces, and enhancing security ties with countries beyond the immediate region.

The spokesperson argued that these advancements surpass the boundaries of Japan’s postwar defense framework, challenging the principles of its historically defense-oriented security policy. He noted that such measures could potentially disrupt the post-World War II international order and conflict with Japan’s longstanding image as a peace-committed nation.

China urged the global community to stay alert to what it perceives as increasing signs of militarization. The call to action underscores the necessity for concerted efforts to maintain regional stability amid these developments.
